Breast Cancer Management
Manual Lymphatic Drainage

$150 for 60 Minutes
$225 for 90 Minutes

We use a combination of hands on techniques such as manual lymphatic drainage, scar tissue massage, myofascial release, active and passive stretching, and breathing exercises to treat various secondary issues that occur during breast cancer treatment such as:

  • Axillary Web Syndrome (Cording) - side affect form sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary lymph node dissection or scar tissue development from the surgical removal of cancer from the chest. Cording develops along the lymphatic vessel creating restrictions in the lymphatic system. â€‹

  • Scar Tissue Development - Fibrous tissue that forms when normal tissue is destroyed by disease, injury, or surgery. Scar tissue forms when a wound heals after a cut, sore, burn, or other skin condition, or when an incision (cut) is made into the skin during surgery. It may also form inside the body when certain conditions, such as cirrhosis, cause normal tissue to become fibrous tissue. Scar tissue development can cause pain, tenderness, itchiness and functional limitations â€‹â€‹

  • Lymph Node Removal - MLD is used to reroute the edema around the effected areas with blocked or removed lymph nodes. MLD creates connections and reroutes the edema to intact areas with healthy lymphatic vessels that are more equipped to drain the edema to venous circulation and eventually be eliminated.

  • Fibrosis development after mastectomy

  • General sensations of pain or tightness in the trunk, chest or shoulder

Both Megan and Britt are trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Contact us directly if you have any questions regarding MLD practice and if it is right for you.
