Khaleela Willingham
Khaleela (she/her) is a Boston native and self-care enthusiast who loves to spend her time completely absorbed in her favorite activities. When not at work, you can catch her cooking, eating, reading, digging in the dirt, hemorrhaging money at a garden center, browsing an endangered local bookstore, pretending to run, investigating green spaces, battling a home renovation project, at Home Depot [again], or catching up with her favorite humans. She is currently exploring her love-hate relationship with running via TrailblazHers Run Crew and may or may not be contemplating her first 10k this year.
PT, DPT
Khaleela is a 2021 graduate of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Simmons University. Upon licensure, she began specializing in treatment of the pelvic floor and is preparing to sit for the Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) Board Certification exam. While she is most passionate about assisting patients to overcome a variety of pelvic health conditions, Khaleela also loves working with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, older adults, and anyone striving to optimize their functional performance.
Eternally in pursuit of continuing education, Khaleela has completed courses in Dry Needling, Cervicothoracic Manipulation, Lumbosacral Manipulation, Lower Extremity Sports Rehabilitation, Intrapartum and Obstetric Considerations, and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation through the Herman and Wallace Institute. She has experience in outpatient pelvic health, outpatient orthopedic, inpatient oncologic, aquatic therapy, and home health settings.
Various adventitious circumstances led Khaleela to become a Pelvic PT, but central to all of them is her determination to empower patients to help themselves. She is intentional about fitting patients with exercises that are not only targeted toward their goals, but realistic to their lifestyles. Many pelvic floor conditions are tied to stress or environmental factors, and her holistic approach incorporates behavioral change and a referral network of inclusive providers to help address symptoms and their underlying origins. With a combination of movement, manual therapy, strengthening, and education she believes every patient can learn the skills they need to live full, functional, and rewarding lives.
